BANDITA DEL GIARDINO SCORNABECCHI

The Giardino Scornabecchi in Riparbella is not only a large forest, it is home to the Suspended Adventure Park, a place of great natural and educational value.

A play area for children and adults with acrobatic routes of varying difficulty and length above the ground between suspended platforms; everyone can experience the thrill of jumping among the trees just like Tarzan! The climbing harnesses with longe with karabiners, pulley and helmet are included and let you to move in complete safety, leaving all worries on the ground as you enjoy the exciting experience in close contact with nature.

The park also offers instinctive archery to test eye, hand and brain co-ordination and tree climbing, a fun, vertical way to exercise. Lovers of trekking or cycling (MTB rental available) can choose one of the many paths through the typical Mediterranean vegetation of myrtle, laurel, holm oak, arbutus and mastic.

Hidden in their maquis habitat and occasionally peeping out from afar are many animals; ungulates, such as wild boar and roe deer, are the most easily sighted species, and there are also fallow deer, porcupines, foxes, badgers, hares and Eurasian red squirrels. There is an abundance of avifauna with birds of prey such as barn owls, tawny owls and buzzards and small woodland birds such as woodpeckers, turtle doves and jays Thousands of wood pigeons have wintered in the Garden for years and use it as a dormitory: at dawn on cold winter mornings you can admire the splendid flocks of hundreds of birds flying towards their foraging areas.

From morning to evening, this nature area offers numerous recreational opportunities for sports people, families with children, outdoor tourism enthusiasts and groups, who can also book guided tours. The Bandita del Giardino Scornabecchi also offers apartments built in the recently renovated old farmhouse, which can be rented throughout the year.

The area is very important for the reproduction of wildlife; wild boars are bred for restocking and food purposes in a 290 hectare enclosure. Guided tours are available for sighting wild boars and other animals, such as fallow deer, roe deer and various species of birds.
